D\u00e9finition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Une v\u00e9lorution<\/a> est une manifestation cyclable destin\u00e9e \u00e0 promouvoir l’utilisation de la bicyclette. C’est un anagramme de v\u00e9lo et de r\u00e9volution. Elle est parfois associ\u00e9e \u00e0 la masse critique<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La v\u00e9lorution est un mouvement international<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visibilit\u00e9<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Une manifestation v\u00e9lorutionnaire consiste tout d’abord en une manifestation qui veut rendre visible les cyclistes dans l’espace public. Elle doit donc attirer l’oeil des passants, mais surtout l’int\u00e9r\u00eat des journalistes, qui relaieront l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement bien au del\u00e0 des cercles cyclistes. Ces manifestations rappellent aux automobilistes que les cyclistes existent, et qu’il conviendrait de leur laisser une place dans l’espace public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

C’est une manifestation festive. Faire du v\u00e9lo rend heureux. Il n’est donc pas question de r\u00e2ler ou de s’\u00e9nerver. Les participants sont l\u00e0 pour s’amuser et passer du bon temps en compagnie d’autres cyclistes. Elle peut \u00eatre costum\u00e9e, ou les v\u00e9los d\u00e9cor\u00e9s, pour mettre tout le monde dans l’ambiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revendicative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Elle est aussi l\u00e0 pour r\u00e9clamer leur place dans l’espace public, et que les \u00e9lus tiennent compte du v\u00e9lo dans les am\u00e9nagements urbains. Elle peut ainsi s’articuler autour d’une th\u00e9matique particuli\u00e8re, comme la s\u00e9curit\u00e9, le manque d’am\u00e9nagement cyclable dans certaines parties de la ville, ou la difficult\u00e9 pour atteindre une destination en particulier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un moyen de pression<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

C’est aussi un moyen de pression sur les autorit\u00e9s. Lorsque suffisamment de cyclistes se rassemblent, les \u00e9lus se rendent compte que les cyclistes repr\u00e9sentent une force qui peut faire bouger les lignes \u00e9lectorales et faire basculer une \u00e9lection. A Montpellier, en 2018, suite aux d\u00e9clarations du Maire Philippe Saurel qui disait qu’il n’allait pas faire de pistes cyclables pour deux cyclistes, une manifestation de 1200 cyclistes<\/a> le fait changer d’avis et a entra\u00een\u00e9 un grand plan de cyclabilit\u00e9 de la ville. Mais trop tard pour sauver sa r\u00e9\u00e9lection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
